Empowering Change Through Digital Skills: Regina Ngigi’s Freelancing Journey

Regina Ngigi is a passionate freelancer and graphic designer whose journey into the digital space has been marked by determination, growth, and meaningful impact. Her path into freelancing began when she joined the Pawatech Solutions program through Compassion Kenya. Through this program, she gained valuable digital skills that prepared her to work in the online space and build a professional career.

During the program, Regina developed skills in graphic design, virtual assistance, email management, research, and data entry. These skills became the foundation of her freelancing career and enabled her to start working with different organizations and clients.

Through her dedication and commitment to quality work, Regina has had the opportunity to collaborate with organizations such as MJ Brands, Davix Icon, and Bema Construction Company. She also served as a personal graphic designer for one of the Members of Parliament in Kenya, an experience that further strengthened her creativity, professionalism, and confidence in delivering design solutions.

Freelancing has had a life-changing impact on Regina’s life. Through her work, she has earned more than KSh 551,630, which has allowed her to support her family and invest in her future. With her earnings, Regina has been able to:

  • Support her parents by helping settle household bills

  • Purchase a laptop for her sisters to support their education

  • Support a small construction project

  • Contribute 50% toward purchasing land

Reflecting on her journey, Regina says, “Freelancing has truly transformed my life. It has given me the opportunity to support my family, invest in our future, and build confidence in my abilities.”

Regina remains grateful for the opportunity to grow through the Pawatech Solutions program and the support of Compassion Kenya. Her journey demonstrates how access to digital skills and opportunities can empower young people to transform their lives and create lasting change for their families and communities. As she continues to grow in the digital space, Regina looks forward to exploring even more opportunities ahead
